FRIENDS OR FIENDS?

PPBlessingNon-Fiction1 month ago22 Views

Making friends as a child was super easy— you just needed to stay in the same compound or neighbourhood, attend the same school or church, like the same sweets and biscuits, or any other thing that brings you together. Simple!

Making friends as an adult is a whole different ball game—you’re wondering if they’re genuinely interested in being friends with you, or if they’re merely using you as a ladder. You’re left second-guessing every move, not because you don’t desire friendship, but because you’ve been hurt, betrayed by a friend or two.

Does this mean there isn’t genuine friendship in adulthood? No, far from it, adult friendship is hard, requiring work, in honesty, clarity, and keeping each other in the loop of each other’s lives. Because he/she who desires genuine friendship must first show themselves to be friendly.
